I was so excited when I heard Valerie Chase had written a companion story to one of my favorite books so far this year, and I couldn't wait to dive right in! I think it's only fair to say that though I really liked the first book, I liked this one even more! The book just pulled me in, almost from the first page.
After losing her sister, Yasmin takes a job on a cruise line as photographer where she meets West, her boss who, though he's pretty much a jerk, she can't help feeling attracted to.
Spoiler free zone here, but I will say that after these two begin digging deeper the realize that they both had some preconceived notions about each other that aren't all that true, and you see a romance start to blossom between them. I was constantly on edge as I wondered whether or not West and Yasmin would be able pull through and come out on top, or if they would go their separate way at the end of the cruise term.
Valerie Chase is fast becoming an author I know I can rely on for a really great book that feels realistic and allows you to step into the characters' shoes and enjoy the story. If you are looking for a really great read, for the beach, your own cruise, or otherwise, I recommend you grab a copy of With Every Breath and be prepared to read until the last page as you're not going to be able to put it down!

As for her writing style, Valerie loves sexy banter and guys whose hearts are in the right place, even if their heads sometimes aren't. She loves discovering strong, awesome characters, putting them in entertaining situations, and watching them argue their way to love.
