Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Not many people know exactly what happened to Echo that caused her to miss the last month of the previous school year and then return her senior year a completely different girl. The few who do don't even include Echo herself and she wants to find out why.
Noah's parents died a few years back and an altercation with his first foster father came back to bite him by allowing him only limited, supervised interaction with his two younger brothers.
Brought together by a twist of fate(and a slightly unorthodox therapist)they begin hatching schemes to get into their files that have the answers the both seek. Echo's tells what happened that night and Noah's holds information on his brothers' foster parents which he hopes to use when he graduates to help him gain custody of his brothers. Will Echo find out what happened and will Noah gain custody? I'd tell you but then you wouldn't have any reason to read this amazing book!
Every part of this book feels real, you really get into Echo and Noah's heads and understand the way they think. I'm usually on the edge about whether or not I'll enjoy a book that has alternating points of view but this one couldn't have been more perfect. I especially enjoyed it being set in my own state of Kentucky. I honestly cannot wait for the next book to come out, which focuses on Beth, who's a character I enjoyed so much and would love to see inside her head. From what I could tell it seems like she'd make for an interesting read.
All in all Katie McGarry really knows the ingredients to spin a real piece of art. I see many of her future novels on my bookshelves.
*I was provided this book by the publisher and gave a 100% honest review. Check it out!*
