I am so happy to have been able to have read this book and am even happier to be able to participate in this blog tour. Christie Cote is truly an amazing author and I just loved this book so much it's hard to explain! So, without further ado here is some more info on the book.
My Rating: 4.5 of 5 Stars
Release Date: May 6th 2014
About Rain:
Taylor Sullivan took her life for granted until she received news that would change her life forever. In a state of denial she met Kyle, who didn’t end up being what she expected. She wasn’t able to escape her new reality, but with his friendship, just maybe she could survive it.
My Thoughts:
Can I just start by saying oh my goodness? Is that allowed? Round these parts in the bloggersphere I'm sort of in charge(who gave me that power, I'll never know) so I'm going to say it is.
I say this a lot, but I really truly mean it this time, based on the synopsis I had no idea what to expect. Nada. Zilch. Not a clue. Something compelled me to want to read it though, that fateful day I was browsing Facebook and there was an author looking for some bloggers for her book cover reveal. "Hmm... That's nice." I thought. Cover reveals are such fun. Then I started to scroll past and then *light bulb* it hit me that, hello, I'm a blogger. So, I commented on her status and the rest is pretty much history. After learning a bit more about the book, I knew I absolutely had to read it, no question. So, after that story that y'all probably don't care about I have to say that I am so beyond happy that I did.
I'm going to assume that because the synopsis is vague the fab Christie Cote wants to keep the major plot points hush, hush so I won't go into too much detail but I have to say that based on the few little quotes here and there I was able to see along the way before I read Rain that it is so much more than I thought it was going to be. This book is amazing. Just amazing. The characters are perfect in the way that they are absolutely imperfect which, you know, to me makes them perfect. I think I said perfect enough in that one sentence, don't you? This book instantly became a new favorite for me, and I cannot recommend it enough. Taylor, Kyle and everyone else were just instantly a part of me. I will take the characters in this book with me wherever I go. To me, that's something pretty special when a book just worms its way into your heart and takes root there. So, yes, Rain wasn't what I was expecting. But, what's the fun in reading if it doesn't throw you a few curve balls? From what I understand there are two more books planned and they are most definitely going on my to be read list, and I so hope you add Rain to yours. If you love amazing YA fiction, you will not be disappointed.
*I received this book for review as part of this blog tour, but this in no way affected my thoughts as expressed in this review*

I thought I commented yesterday! Thank you so much for being a part of the blog tour and reviewing Rain. I'm so glad that you liked it so much. Fantastic review! You were spot on for me keeping the synopsis vague, I hate it when the major plot points are in the synopsis. It drives me nuts, so I refused to do it with mine. :)
ReplyDeleteYou are very welcome-- I was happy to be a part! I agree, sometimes when too much of the plot is given away it kind of takes away from that very first time you read the book, seeing as you sort of already know what to expect. :)
