About the Series:

The last thing that the girls at the elite Jane Austen Academy need is hot guys to flirt with. But over the summer the school has been sold, and like it or not, the guys are coming. And it's about to turn the Academy--and the lives of its students--totally upside down...

The Jane Austen Academy series are modern retellings of Jane Austen classics set at a beachside California boarding school. Don't miss the rest of the Jane Austen Academy series, where sassy girls, hot guys and Jane Austen collide!
Dive into the fabulous, fun lives of six Academy girls as their friendships are tested, torn and ultimately triumph...

About the Book:
To say Lizzie and Dante are polar opposites is the understatement of the century. He’s a snooty Exeter transfer with more money than Google. She’s a driven study-a-holic just barely keeping up with tuition. It’s obvious that Dante thinks he’s way too good for Lizzie. And Lizzie knows Dante is a snob with a gift for pressing her buttons.

But things are changing fast this year at the Academy. And when Lizzie’s quest to stop those changes blows up in her face, taking her oldest friendship with it, she has nowhere else to turn but to Dante, with his killer blue eyes, his crazy-sexy smile, and his secrets… Secrets Lizzie can’t seem to leave alone, no matter how hard she tries…

My Review:
Remember a while back, it wasn’t too awful long ago, I read the 3rd installment in this series(When I’m With You) which is based on Northanger Abbey. Since I loved it so much, I immediately ran and grabbed this one from Amazon Kindle. It’s based off of Pride and Prejudice, and I must say it was, for lack of better terminology, a slam dunk!
Okay, we all know the story of Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. It’s been done and redone more times than can be counted. So, I kinda sorta wasn’t expected something different. You know what I mean? I mean I already knew I loved the way Cecilia Gray writes from When I’’m With You, but I still had my reservations.

There was no need for such reservations, I found, as this book was just a whole bushel basket full of awesome-juice. Yes, I’m aware that that probably doesn’t make sense anywhere else but in my head, but the truth’s the truth! One of my absolute favorite parts of this story, I found, was the way that Georgiana got to take on a little bit of a more active role in this book versus the original classic. I liked her spunk, and I know right now that there are only books planned/written based off all of Jane Austen’s original novels, but I would love to see one(or at least a novella) for Georgiana. Moving on, Lizzie and Dante were near-perfect modern representations of Elizabeth and Darcy and although I’ve read a few other really amazing Pride and Prejudice re-imaginings, I know this one will hold a special place in that category for me, and(to be honest) contemporary young adult romance in general for me. The story read as realistic to me, and I found the journalism/school name saving side story to be a wonderful touch. I recommend to any of Miss Austen’s fans and again for those who have yet to read the original but would like to start with a lighter introduction. As a side note, I’m starting to really be a big fan of Cecilia Gray and I look forward to reading more from her. I’ve found out she has a completely original young adult novel I’m definitely hoping to read sometime soon!
