My rating: 3 of 5 stars

About the Book:
For Gemma Green’s first time, things should have been straightforward. Find your subject, hold their gaze and push a thought into their head to save them from future disaster – Aversion complete. A pretty simple process given that the subject was to have no recollection of the experience. But Russ Tanner doesn’t seem to want to forget. In fact the more she tries to avoid him, the more he pushes to get to know her. Gemma knows she has a problem but is she facing the side effects of a failed Aversion or has the school’s tennis champ really fallen for her?

My Review:
I'd been looking forward to reading Aversions ever since the author first contacted me back in November. There was just something intriguing about someone being able to stop someone from making a decision that would affect their life negatively simply by looking them in the eye for a few seconds. First, I must say that my 3 star rating is a very high 3 stars, there was just a few little nitpick-y things that kept this from being a 4 star read for me.

I actually really enjoyed viewing life through the main character's eyes. Knowing she was one of the few female Averters out there would probably be pretty stressful and she seemed to handle it well. The speed of the novel I found to also be enjoyable, as one of my biggest pet peeves is when books like this one move way too fast and when the romance in them forms way too quickly. In Aversion this wasn't a problem. In fact, my only real issue with this book is that the side characters' personalities really weren't formed to my liking. I understand that that doesn't really bother most people, but for me I like to get to know the people the main character interacts with. Like I said, though, other than that I loved the book. I enjoyed following along with Gemma on her journey as she discovers her abilities and navigates through life in general. I'd definitely read book two as I simply must know what happens next!

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the author, which in no way affected my review or opinion.*
