Fast Forward by Juliet Madison
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Aspiring supermodel Kelli Crawford seems destined to marry her hotshot boyfriend, but on her 25th birthday she wakes in the future as a fifty-year-old suburban housewife married to the now middle-aged high school nerd.
Trapped in the opposite life of the one she wanted, Kelli is forced to re-evaluate her life and discover what is really important to her. Will she overcome the hilarious and heartbreaking challenges presented to her and get back to the body of her younger self? Or will she be stuck in the nightmare of hot flushes, demanding children, raunchy advances from her husband, and hideous support underwear forever?
This book opens on model Kelli Crawford out with her friend Selena and boyfriend Grant. She feels like her life is going perfectly the way it's supposed to, and that her boyfriend, Grant, will soon be her fiance. She has a wonderful career going, and the following day she will be turning twenty-five and having a big dinner party with friends and family. All this changes, though, when she goes to bed and wakes up a stranger to her own self, fifty years of age instead of twenty five. Upon a massive freak-out, in walks her supposed husband... William McSnelly, the guy that was a nerd in her high school, and they have two children together with a grandchild on the way. She goes on to find out all about this new life she's been thrown into, all while trying to find her way back. On the way, she finds out some surprising things, not only about the strange new world around her, but herself as well.
This book was just what I needed, truly an enjoyable page-turner. Juliet Madison really knows how to create that perfect mix of humor and self-discovery. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened with Kelli next. The ending, was bittersweet in the way that I just wanted to read more! I honestly can't wait to read more from this author, because if the journeys they contain are half as good this one I know I'll love them just as much. This more than deserved its five star rating!
